Civilian NVG is a rare head-wear found at military locations.

How to Obtain

Civilian NVGs are found in 6 locations, all of which being military locations. These locations go as follows; O'Leary Military Base, the green tent and bridge checkpoint in the Confederation Bridge, the helicopter crash in St. Peter's Island, the tent in Montague, some places in Belfast Airport and the outpost in Burywood.

Function

Civilian NVGs will significantly improve your vision at night time, and they make everything appear to have a greenish tinge, yet significantly brighter. When wearing the Civilian NVG, it will be decrease your visibility range and will replace a green fog. Pressing the hat key (N by Default) will toggle the NVG on or off so they may be worn all the time.

Analysis

Advantages

  • The Civilian NVG improves brightness during night time.
  • It is more common than its counterpart; the Military NVG.
  • Red reticles of sights and the tactical laser stay red.

Disadvantages

  • The Civilian NVG reduces the normal viewing range, replacing it with a green fog.
  • It is found rarely in dangerous military locations.

Trivia

  • Civilian NVGs are typically found at military locations, despite the item's name.
  • When worn at daytime, civilian NVGs make everything look exactly the same as at night. In update 2.1.2 this is fixed: the brightness is increased when it's daytime.
  • The Military NVG has farther range but is a bit more difficult to view from than the Civilian NVG.
  • The Civilian NVG turns everything green except for the red reticles of sights and the tactical laser light. This makes sure they still contrast and are visible.
