A Broken leg occurs when the player falls from a relatively high height. This happens most often when trying to descend from tall structures.
Having broken legs disables the player's running and jumping abilities and makes them slower until they heal it with a Splint, Morphine, or Medkit or if they wait for it to heal on its own (if one is playing on Hard, it won't heal over time).

- Ladders will save the player from breaking their legs. It doesn't matter how far they have fallen.
- It takes 60 seconds for the leg to heal on normal.
- In easy mode, you can't break your legs from falling, however you can harm yourself with a snare, which will result in a broken leg.
- In 2.2.5, breaking legs doesn't seem to cause any damage. This has been fixed in 3.0.0.0.
- Players can have the option to turn off broken legs, but this will not affect fall damage unless the player turns it off as well.
